Coco Bay has fought off tough competition to win ‘Best On-line Swimwear’ in the Sheerluxe 2013 Shopping Awards. These annual awards are the public’s choice of their favourite on-line retailers and Coco Bay overcame some big players including ASOS, Figleaves, Melissa Odabash to clinch the prize. Other category winners include Zara (High Street Fashion), Net a Porter (High End Fashion), Marks and Spencer (Lingerie).
This result seemed a distant dream 10 years ago when Coco Bay’s founders (3 sisters) were running the business out of one of their homes in London and sprinting backwards and forwards to the local post office as each sporadic order came in. Coco Bay’s aim has always been about taking the hard work and intimidation out of beachwear shopping. At the beginning, this involved changing customer’s shopping habits as this was the early days of e-tailing and there was still particular resistance to buying products like lingerie and swimwear on-line. It has been a challenging and exciting journey but 10 years on it is safe to say that Coco Bay has certainly won over the swimwear buyer.
