British online retailer Universal-Textiles.com is pioneering a cotton comeback with the launch of a brand new 100% cotton range of men’s underwear, after the rise in price of cotton in 2011 and 2012 which led many high street stores to opt for cheaper man-made fibres instead. But demand for cool, comfortable cotton never went away, and while many retailers are still steering away from 100 per cent cotton, Universal Textiles believes it’s time for a comeback.
Director Ravi Karia said: “Our customers were always very impressed with our cotton products when we sold them previously, so that is why we have decided to launch a new cotton underwear range for men. There is a huge demand for cotton products, and this time, we are determined to keep supplying them even if the price of cotton goes up again.”
Universal-Textiles.com first launched a 100 per cent cotton sock collection and has sold over 42,130 pairs in the last twelve months. From the positive customer feedback the online retailer received, it is clear that many people value the benefits 100 per cent cotton offers as a natural fibre, its ability to keep wearers cool, reduce perspiration and add comfort.
