OROBLÙ and The LYCRA Company mark a new era in hosiery

by Underlines

Oroblù, an Italian brand known worldwide and renowned for making women’s legs even more beautiful thanks to its collections of high-quality tights, is proud to announce its collaboration with The LYCRA Company for the presentation of its bio-derived sneakers tights line, developed by the brand using the innovative elastomer derived from corn grown mainly for industrial use, LYCRA® EcoMade Fibre, thus setting a new benchmark in low environmental impact hosiery and marking a decisive step towards a more sustainable future for the fashion industry.

LYCRA® EcoMade fibre is made from a variety of corn grown for industrial purposes. The production process involves fermenting glucose extracted from corn starch to obtain a key ingredient—of plant origin—that replaces the fossil component normally used to produce high-performance LYCRA® fiber of plant origin. The result is a virtuous material that guarantees elasticity, comfort, and resistance, in line with Oroblù’s high quality standards, while helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the textile industry, thanks to a composition made from 70% renewable materials.

“Working side by side with partners such as CSP International and their Oroblù brand allows us to make the most of the supply chain and quickly bring innovative solutions such as the new bio-derived LYCRA® EcoMade fibre to market. This achievement combines environmental responsibility and performance, while maintaining the comfort, freedom of movement, and quality that consumers expect from Oroblù and LYCRA® fibre.”

Alistair Williamson, VP EMEA & South Asia, the LYCRA Company

The new bio-sneakers tights will be on sale on the Oroblù website from the end of November 2025. A product drop on the brand’s e-commerce site has been specially designed to present the project to the most attentive customers and celebrate with them the great milestone achieved in terms of sustainability. This initiative comes almost a year ahead of the in-store sale, which will take place starting in September 2026.

At CSP International Fashion Group, we have always placed great emphasis on responsible innovation and, in particular, with the Oroblù brand, we strive to distinguish ourselves through our ability to combine research, innovation, and style with a deep respect for the environment and nature.

Our concrete and scalable sustainability journey is documented by periodic sustainability reports and a constant commitment to choosing materials with a lower environmental impact, which are increasingly natural and less and less fossil-based.

Our collaboration with The LYCRA Company helps us pursue our mission: to make beauty and comfort synonymous with responsibility.,”

Carlo Bertoni, CEO of CSP International Fashion Group (owners of Oroblu Hosiery)
