Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje (TFBCA) hosted another spectacular fashion event on November 1, 3, and 4. Over 20 companies participated, including 11 swimwear brands supported by nearly a dozen accessory brands. Two special guests also participated: National brand Lola Casademunt, which presented its first standalone women’s swimwear catwalk collection under the Lola casasdemunt by Mayte collection; and renowned top model and actress Inés Sastre, who shared her international experience at the Top Attitude event.
The 3 day event kicked off with the Fresh Face casting, transforming Costa Adeje into a fashion launch pad for aspiring models. The casting aims to discover new faces that promote diversity and break stereotypes. The TFBCA Fashion Forum was also a highly anticipated part of the event line up, covering key industry topics like diversity and inclusivity.
At the grand designer runway of Saturday there was an impressive line-up of 11 swimwear fashion brands including Bea de la Rosa, Ananas Wear, Seco-Seco, By Loleiro by Aurelia Gil, Macaronesia, Waiola, Nossclo, Viperinas, Farowear, and Arena Negra. They were joined by 8 accessory brands: Handcrafted, Gallobuey, Pendientera, Calma by Paz, Azusal, Pisando Colores, and Malamata. The whole event is committed to the ‘Plastic Free’ cause, which aims to eliminate single-use plastics to reduce sea pollution.
Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje has become an international reference for swimwear trends, allowing participating brands to showcase trends for the upcoming season.
Namely Bea de la Rosa who told a story of freedom through her own graphically designed material which is always the basis of her collection. Red was the common thread throughout, with contrasting blacks and blues. While sensual fabrics such as tulle, Lycra®, embossed details and ruffles created movement and drama.
Or Ananas Wear, whose colourful La Palma-inspired Awara Sunset collection for men and women was accompanied on the runway by the Perspex accessories brand Handcrafted, with jewellery inspired by the marine world, featuring unique, original, and inspiring shapes, colours, and textures.
Also influenced by the sea life of the Canary Islands, Seco Seco presented a carefree collection featuring original prints from oil paintings created by the designer herself, Ana Seco. This collection is characterised by blues, reds and oranges, in coquettish Pin Up style silhouettes and prints that resemble denim, in tribute to the most prominent trend of the upcoming season the original one off accessories created specifically for the catwalk were by @gallobuey3d, of whom I am a super fan.
Meanwhile the BY LOLEIRO by AURELIA GIL brand presented a sophisticated and elegant capsule collection which set off the accompanying gold plated accessories inspired by the sunset. Elevating these unique pieces into the realms of fine jewellery.
Sustainability was everywhere, from the ecologically certified fabrics and inks at Bea de la Rosa and Ananas Wear, and Nossclo to the recycled polyester in vibrant tropical-inspired prints in the PURA VIDA collection at sustainably focused brand Macaronesia.
