The second free webinar in the ASBCI’s Beyond 2020 series on 3 March 2021 brings together experts in consumer behaviour and data analysis, logistics, and retail for an in-depth look at how the pandemic has changed consumer buying patterns and how retailers can adapt to stay ahead.
Covid-19 has not only changed how people buy, but what they buy and when and where they buy it. National and regional lockdowns have closed high streets and changed people’s attitudes to shopping, perhaps forever. And the inevitable shift online, already well underway before the pandemic, has accelerated, transforming consumer expectations of stock availability and delivery times.
How can retailers and the wider supply chain adapt to rapidly changing trends and a disrupted business environment while satisfying increasingly demanding and more socially conscious consumers? The next webinar in the ASBCI’s Beyond 2020 series, organised with event partner Eurofins, will explore the post-pandemic digital opportunity for the UK’s fashion sector and why digital transformation has become an imperative rather than an aspiration. Martin Corcoran from Summit Media has pioneered the use of data and insights in performance marketing and customer strategy for 15 years, and he will analyse the way certain retailers are using online as their primary marketing and sales channels, and how, alongside the likes of Google, Facebook and Amazon, they have changed the game when it comes to acquiring and retaining customers.
The webinar will also cover the expansion of omni-channel strategies as retailers drive sales by increasing the number and variety of routes to market. Drawing on the experiences of multiple retailer clients as well as data from research conducted in August 2020, Caroline Ellis, Business and Client Development Director, and Will Robinson, Business Solutions Director, from Advanced Supply Chain Group will provide insights into not only how retailers have responded to the challenges of the pandemic, but also the longer-term trends that can and will impact supply chains and stock inventory management going forward. The speakers will then be joined by Frazer Mead, head of global sourcing at The Very Group, for a live panel debate and Q&A, moderated by Dr Julie King, ASBCI Event Director.
The webinar will take place on 3 March 2021 at 10.30am (register here). The Smart Consumers Beyond 2020 webinar is the second in the ASBCI’s new event series. The series concludes with the Beyond 2020: Survival of the Smartest digital conference in May 2021.
