Whilst on an extended trip Down Under our Editor, Pamela Scott, came upon the superb group of swimwear stores that is Swimwear Galore.
This swimwear chain which was started over 40 years ago began with a small rack of swimwear from the family run fabric shop in Fitzroy, Victoria. Jan Ingersole founded the business when she saw a gap in the market for good quality swimwear and soon after ‘The Stretch Shop’, as Swimwear Galore was called in those days, became the go-to place in Melbourne for swimwear. Although, quickly swimwear took over fabric and Swimwear Galore was officially born!
In the 2000’s Jan’s 3 children, Andrew, Kelly and Caz joined the business and took Swimwear Galore to where it is today – 7 retail stores across Victoria, Australia (Fitzroy, Malvern, Mentone, Greensborough, Mornington, Sorrento and Geelong) and a booming online store as well.
The stores boast an impressive array of swimwear, resortwear and accessories brands for men, women and children including Sea Level, Bond Eye & Artesands, Seafolly, Baku, Sunseeker, Aqua Blu, Billabong, Love Luna, Bodacious, Funkita, Jantzen, Rip Curl, Panache, Capriosca, Jets, Miraclesuit, Zoggs, Villebrequin, Freya/Fantasie and Elomi….!
