The Cabildo de Gran Canaria presented this week the plans and new developments for the next edition of Gran Canaria Swim Week, which will be held from 2 to 5 October 2024 at the Expomeloneras exhibition centre in Maspalomas (Gran Canaria). The event was presented in Madrid by Minerva Alonso, Councillor for Economic Development, Industry, Trade and Crafts of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria on the terrace of the Rosewood Villa Magna hotel.
Gran Canaria Swim Week will bring together in this edition a total of 40 designers and brands, of which 23 are from the Canary Islands (14 from Gran Canaria, 7 from La Palma, one from Lanzarote and one from Tenerife) 8 from the mainland, and 9 international, including American and European brands. All of them will present their Spring/Summer 2025 designs on the catwalk. Among the designers and brands confirmed for this edition are, among others, prestigious designers such as Aurelia Gil and Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada. In this edition the American brands Guess, Alejandra Alonso Rojas and Cynthia Rowley will be making their debut on the catwalk as well as 10 emerging talent designers.
With this new edition, the event reinforces its position as an international benchmark in beachwear and consolidates its position as the key event of its kind on the European catwalk circuit. In the words of the Councillor for Economic Development, Minerva Alonso:
This year from the 2nd to the 5th of October our Swimwear Fashion Week, Gran Canaria Swim Week, will take place: a week that represents us, that represents our singularities, our customs, our culture and our landscape. A Swim Fashion Week that will once again be attended by important celebrities such as the international top stars Stella Maxwell and Valentina Ferrer; and with 40 swimwear brands, more than half of which will be from the Canary Islands”.
