The Mutha Project which goes live on 19th September is the brainchild of founder, Giorgina Falcone. After struggling to find colourful, comfortable underwear during her second pregnancy, Giorge decided to do something about it in her nesting frenzy!
She comments:
I struggled to find colourful, comfortable underwear which was seamless and sustainably conscious to decided to create my own. I really could not seem to find non frumpy knickers or non-wired bras without nursing clips. Our garments are made from ECONYL® yarn which is regenerated nylon from consumer waste and discarded fishing netx. They are warp knitted so have the capacity to expand and recover – designed to fit no matter where you are in your womanhood journey, including pregnancy. Fed up with white, nude and black we are launching with our core colours which are jade green, dark navy and coral. Being a mother of two, working another job and in my forties it has been a risk and a lot of hard work to navigate an industry I know nothing about but we made it!”
The brand is being launched with two wirefree bras – scoop neck and plunge with 3 sets of complementary knickers – the bikini, the high leg/high waist brief and the high leg/high waist ultra which is designed for postpartum with a higher elastane content. With just 3 sizes the bras can fit 30-34G and panties from dress size 8 to 18.
