Something Wicked, leading British producer of exquisite hand-crafted leather lingerie, is proud to introduce its carefully curated vegan leather range. The vegan range has been crafted in response to the growing demand for vegan leather fashion but also inspired by direct feedback from consumers who require a vegan option. Following a successful trial, the vegan collection is now widely available.
The demand for vegan leather is growing in the fashion industry with no signs of it slowing down. The global market for vegan footwear currently has an estimated value of $31.95 billion US and is predicted to grow by 7.6% to around $53.5bn US by 2031[1]. In the UK specifically, according to a Vegan Society report, over 70% of the 1,000 consumers surveyed would be ready to spend more on vegan leathers, over animal-derived ones.[2]
Steff McGrath, MD of Something Wicked states:
Something Wicked is known and trusted by the industry and consumers to deliver premium designs, using the most exquisite materials such as our ethically sourced Japanese plonge leather. When a customer asked whether we could make a Mia bodysuit in vegan leather, we embraced the challenge!”
More and more people prefer to avoid animal-derived products, both in their food and fashion, so it is essential to offer shoppers an alternative. For luxury brands like us, the challenge is to source high-quality materials that would mirror their leather equivalents’ luxurious feel and durability. Luckily, we managed to find a fantastic supplier and we apply the same standard of craftsmanship and aftercare assurances to the vegan range as we do to our leather creations.”
The vegan collection includes some of Something Wicked’s best-selling pieces including the Mia bodysuit and popular Lexi soft cup bra. Combining the brand’s premium products and the increased demand for ethical lifestyle options, presents a profitable opportunity for retailers as it will attract a broader customer base.
