The Future Fabric Expo which closed last night delivered high attendee numbers despite being the hottest two days of 2024. The Show is the largest dedicated showcase for sourcing certified, sustainable material solutions for a planet positive fashion future and it did not disappoint. The seminar programme which staged 15 insightful panels and discussions with industry experts covered topics such as solutions to the problem of plastics, digital product passports, true circularity, regenerative agriculture, legal and policy frameworks and communications about sustainability. Although primarily targeted at clothing manufacturing the top floor had a special section for home textiles and interior design.

For those who were not able to attend the Fair the organisers (Sustainable Angle) have created the Future Fabrics Virtual Expo where you can discover a curated range of sustainable fabrics and key information regarding sustainability issues in the textile industry. Originally set up to extend the lifespan of the Future Fabrics Expo, the VIRTUAL Expo is an online research and sourcing platform that aims to introduce fabrics buyers and designers to international mills and suppliers of sustainable textiles. It provides constant access to specification and sustainability focuse information about fabrics with a reduced environmental impact, any time, from anywhere. The VIRTUAL Expo has now increased search capability and opportunity for direct contact with mills and fabrics are searchable from fibre type and price, to certification and provenance.

The Organisers also announced the second edition of Future Fabrics Expo in New York at the Metropolitan Pavilion, The Suite, Chelsea, Manhattan which will be a much larger exhibition than its debut in 2023. Forward dates are 19-20 November 2024.
