Leak-proof underwear brand NIXI Body has joined forces with The Endometriosis Foundation to release a brand new style, designed with the needs of endo patients in mind.
Endometriosis is a full-body inflammatory disease impacting around 1 in 10 women in the UK. Routinely misunderstood and misdiagnosed, the condition is often categorised by heavy painful periods, gut health issues and pelvic pain – and in many cases, results in major surgery.
NIXI Body founder, Kelly Newton, lived with the disease for years, before having a hysterectomy which sent her into surgical menopause.
I know from personal experience how difficult it can be to live with endometriosis. At NIXI, we have always tried to shine a light on the condition and support the work of The Endometriosis Foundation – so this collaboration feels like a huge moment”
The Carla Knicker – named after the Endometriosis foundation’s CEO and Founder Carla Cressy – pairs NIXI’s signature VPL-free scalloped-edged design with brand new super absorbent anti-leak technology.
Holding up to 4 tampons worth of blood, the knickers are perfect for people struggling with heavy periods. The knickers also have a completely seamless waistband for added comfort for anyone living with abdominal scarring or a stoma.
It was such a joy to work side-by-side with the NIXI team to create a knicker that tackles some of the key problems the endo community face on a day to day basis – from fear of leaking to pain and discomfort.
The fact the knickers look beautiful and are totally invisible under my clothes is an added bonus. Endometriosis can really knock your self-esteem – but everyone deserves to feel secure and confident, no matter what health challenges they are facing.”
£1 from every pair of knickers sold will be donated to the foundation, directly funding research projects that will help improve the lives of people living with endo.
The Carla Knicker is available to pre-order on the NIXI Body website from the 29th of June.
