The 17th edition of Immagine Italia & Co ‘sizzled’ last weekend despite the non-stop rain in Florence! Over 180 collection for Autumn-Winter were presented (42% of which were brands from outside of Italy).
Held concurrently with the Firenze Home TexStyle the Show chalked up 73,24 industry professionals (which represents a 13% increase over the February 2023 event) with buyers and visitors from 41 countries including Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Belgium and Greece. The Show is now attracting more foreign buyers than ever before and is attributable to the push for internationalisation in recent years coupled with the support of the ICE Agency, the ICEX (Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade) and ABIT (Brazilian Institute for Foreign Trade and Development). Other initiatives underway are collaborations such as that with Gesamtmashe (Agency for the International Development of German companies). Dr Raffaella Petrossi, General Manager of Underbeach commented:
We are continuing with a new important development plan for an even more quality offer, which prioritises to attract the major international brands still missing, specific creative and niche brands, complementary categories such as athleisure and hosiery in winter with resortwear in summer. We are on a growth curve in terms of both resources and visitors to the Fairs.”
Certainly the atmosphere was stimulating and exciting with trade buyers keen to see the new collections for next season and the halls felt busy and proactive for the entire three days of the Show. As well as a Collective Fashion Show once a day, Sunday also saw a special homage show to Hanro of Switzerland who are celebrating their 140th anniversary.
