The Calzedonia Group, a business founded by Sandro Veronesi in 1986, is changing its name to Oniverse. The Verona-based company now includes the brands Calzedonia, Intimissimi, Intimissimi Uomo, Tezenis, Falconeri, Signorvino, Atelier Emé, Antonio Marras and, following the acquisition of Cantiere del Pardo, Grand Soleil, Pardo and Van Dutch.
Already an internationally successful business, with its vast, diversified product offering that ranges from fashion to luxury, including such varied sectors as yachts as well as food & wine, the renaming is considered to be an essential step in further expanding the Group’s potential.
Oniverse, a version of the English word «Universe», which encompasses all space, all time and everything it contains. It represents the universe of the Group, consisting of its Brands, its People and its Values. And it is also the anagram of Veronesi, surname of the founder who is still leading the company’s growth (assisted by his sons).
All the employees participated in the creative process of finding a new name, through an in-house contest, confirming the importance we attribute to our people in the progress and development of the business.
The Group has been able to grow constantly since its foundation. Now it is an organization with a great history, a steadily expanding universe, with a great many trademarks, each characterized by a specific identity. For this reason, we knew that the new name we chose would have to be independent and autonomous, but capable of representing the essence of them all. We want every product to stand out on its own, while remaining part of a Group. Oniverse defines precisely that unity of free entities: a heterogeneous organization, each element with its own different structure, but part of the same project”.
Sandro Veronesi, President of Oniverse.
