Between November 28 and 30, Impetus will be showing at ISPO Munich, the world’s largest trade fair for sports and fashion, held in Germany. In the year of its 50th anniversary, the group, which presents one of the most comprehensive vertically integrated structures in Europe, continues to demonstrate ongoing success in the global market.
The partners with whom IMPETUS works include TENCEL®, the leading textile brand from Lenzing. The Austrian company works closely with its partners to drive the decarbonization of the textile value chain. What they produce is a cellulose fibre, regenerated from sustainably cultivated wood.
Good Earth Cotton®, with its cutting-edge fibres, is involved in the mindful production of cotton, an agricultural approach based on science and is distinguished by its positive impact. Good Earth Cotton® sequesters more carbon than it emits throughout its entire cultivation life cycle.
With the aim of developing the best sustainable solutions in the field of high performance yarns, Impetus has partnered with RadiciGroup, a leading producer of advanced textile solutions based in Europe. Through the collaboration with RadiciGroup and Fibretrace®, the first traceable polyamide shirt has been created. This is a perfect embodiment of clothing functionality realized in 100% polyamide and using seamless technology. This solution ensures traceability, transparency, facilitates recyclability and enables the measurement of carbon footprint according to Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) standards. This groundbreaking collaboration will enter the market in December of this year.
The IMPETUS group will also introduce new partners, one of them is the Swiss materials science company OceanSafe, presenting naNea, a new synthetic performance material for the textile industry, modified from virgin raw materials, designed to be biodegradable in ocean water and ideal for sportswear, outerwear, and functional clothing.
The ongoing collaboration with CovationBio in developing partially plant-derived Sorona® polymer-based garments further cements the Impetus group’s leading role in the textile industry. Fibres and fabrics made with Sorona® polymer not only provide a luxuriously soft natural touch, but also boasts long-lasting stretch and recovery, exceptional shape retention, and a host of other unique features.
Also, the Swedish company Renewcell joins the list of synergies. Impetus already uses its new material CIRCULOSE®, which derives 100% from textile waste. Impetus competed in the ISPO AWARDS, and the developed TOP that was awarded by the organisation’s jury, considering it the material of the next generation and the beginning of a new era of sustainability, recyclability, responsibility, and carbon footprint reduction.
Footnote: Impetus started by producing only underwear and loungewear, the experience and know-how they have acquired over the years, together with the significant investment in new technologies, allowed them to expand the portfolio to a wide range of technical products, such as clothing work and sports, betting on underwear with and without sewing. The company is still a family run and managed business. |
