Barcelona-based women’s fashion and accessories label LOLA CASADEMUNT BY MAITE presented its first standalone swimwear catwalk collection for Spring/Summer 2024 at the TFBCA (Tenerife Fashion Beach Costa Adeje) event on Saturday November 4. The collection which remained faithful to the brand’s DNA includes inspiration from the ancient Egyptian civilizations, and animal print.
Unveiled as a special guest at Tenerife Fashion Beach, not only did the collection mark the label’s first presentation of women’s swimwear, but also 40 years of being an independent brand in business passing from mother to daughter, attracting independent investors for international expansion. The collection seamlessly fuses ancient Egyptian symbolism with a modern touch, transporting wearers on a journey back in time.
Maite Casademunt, the brand’s creative director and daughter of the founder , expressed her inspiration for the collection, saying, “For this collection, we travelled to Ancient Egypt, a period with which I feel a special connection and believe it has many elements in common with the universe of LOLA CASADEMUNT BY MAITE. It’s truly a dreamy swimwear collection with pieces filled with metallics and animal prints, transporting us to this golden era.”
The SWIMWEAR collection features metallic gold accents, organza pants, kaftans, and a variety of swimsuits and bikinis in different styles. The collection’s distinctive animal print, combined with a paisley pattern, reflects the natural elements of the Egyptian desert. Symbolic hieroglyphics, geometric shapes, maxi raffia bags, and metallic accessories complete the look. The colour palette, including gold, champagne, fuchsia, mauve, and pistachio, beautifully captures the essence of Egypt.
This collection also includes a range of men’s fashion items, such as swim trunks, shirts, sarongs, and suits with Bermuda shorts, reflecting the brand’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity. Perfect for those looking to make a bold statement next Spring and Summer season, this collection seamlessly blends ancient aesthetics with contemporary designs, to create beachwear that inspires fantasy. The brand is hoping to attend 100% sustainability by 2025 in the area of packaging, labour practices and materials.
