International bodywear brand sloggi and global lingerie brand Triumph have just announced that they have shared their signatory and are supporting the ‘Say Pants to the Tax’ campaign, led by M & S and WUKA.
The 20% tax that was lifted on tampons and pads on 2021 is still however applied to period pants (as the Government classifies them as a garment).
Patrizia Milani, Global Head of Merchandising & Products at sloggi & Triumph commented:
We are dedicated to championing accessibility and affordability for everyday essentials like period pants, ensuring that all people have choice when selecting their required period-related products. We proudly endorsethis significant initiative and believe that this small change can bring about a meaningful impact.”
Leading supermarkets such as Tesco and Sainsburys were also amongst the first to abolish the 20% on these products, absorbing the cost.
sloggi have a range of period pants made in silky soft, modal material that is breathable, lightweight and leakproof (high leg tai, Hipster and Shorts). Triumph Freedom Pants are designed for everyone in two different styles for light and heavy days, made from bamboo cotton which has natural wicking properties.
