Born from a love of vintage glamour girls of the 40s and 50s, Scarlett Gasque’s debut collection was launched last week to a packed out audience in Claridge’s in London. With vintage styles reimagined for a 21st century woman, the luxury lingerie and corsetry brand offers a dash of glamour, a drop of sensuality and a hefty dose of camp.
Founder Chloe Rogers is part of the movement celebrating the art of burlesque and encouraging sexual expression: whilst studying History of Fashion at Central St Martins, she became captivated with traditional corsetry and vintage pin-up stars. With a sharp eye for fashion and knowledge of corsetry she created her brand incorporating artistan craftsmanship, exquisite design into the unique power of corsets to be both sensual and provocative.
Chloe comments:
Scarlett Gasque, named after both of my incredibly influential great grandmothers, is the go-to brand for the daring, the carnal and the coy. I want to uplift our diverse customers and encourage them to continue to proudly live their authentic lives, celebrating all the delicious shapes, styles and forms we all come in.”
Designed in London the debut collection uses expert corsetry techniques with fabrics exclusived sourced in the UK and continental Europe in a sugary sweet colour palette of bubblegum pink, aqua blue and sorbet yellow. Garments include a Poke-A-Dot bra, thong and suspender; the Pearl Basque Corset with Bo Peep Thong; the Lace Corset and Thong and an underwired Lace bra, Thong and Waspie with the piece de resistance – The Dressing Robe, ultra luxurious full length dressing gown with delicate embroidery, faux fur trims and satin buttons.
The opening campaign was shot by legendary fashion photographer, Ellen von Unwerth, reflecting the flirty,ultra-feminine and unabashedly sexy style with empowerment of the brand itself.
