Aubade has announced the upcoming collaboration with haute couture house ELIE SAAB to celebrate the alluring glamour of strong women with exclusive collections of elaborate lingerie and nightwear for aw2023.
This Aubade collaboration is the latest in a series with leading high fashion houses (Viktor & Rolf, Karl Lagerfeld and Iris van Herpen prior to this). Founded in 1958, Aubade is the essence of French sensuality with a bold design vision and a strong awareness of precious materials and comfort – turning lingerie into luxurious pieces to seduce and rejoice in, bringing glamour close to the skin.
Speaking exclusively to Underlines Elie Saab commented on the collaboration:
Aubade has already collaborated with several fashion designers in the past. When they came to us and wanted to work with ELIE SAAB as we share the same vision of women; we dress women to magnify them and make sure they feel confident in our designs. Aubade is an emblematic French lingerie house, it is the essence of femininity and sensuality. Their collections are modern but still respecting their savoir-faire and heritage.”
And what have you brought to the Aubade brand?
I wanted to create a collection including strong and modern pieces, without any vulgarity. I have used codes such as femininity, refinement to reflect both ELIE SAAB & Aubade DNA.
With a shared love of high craftsmanship Aubade has teamed up with the house of ELIE SAAB, known for creating collections of dreams. This is a designer who founded his eponymous label in 1982 at the tender age of 18. Since then ELIE SAAB has become established as one of the major leaders in haute couture globally, with ateliers based in Paris and Beirut. His talents have extended into ready-to-wear, bridal, accessories, eyewear and fragrance and more recently into ELIE SAAB Junior and ELIE SAAB Maison for home and interiors.
Elie Saab understands the female body and knows how to evoke a glamorous sensation. His sense for luxurious materials and sophisticated composition, have made him the go-to couturier for the red carpet. This commitment to craftsmanship and aesthetics led the brand to collaborate with Aubade to create a beauty and strength of women, day and night.
The ‘My Desire’ lingerie collection and the ‘Whimsical Affair’ nightwear collection are eponymous for playful seduction that materializes in feminine forms and an iridescent chiaroscuro on naked skin. Playing on this seductive ambience, ELIE SAAB puts the feminine signature of Aubade into a glamorous light. With a deep understanding of female shapes, the sophisticated ‘broderie française’ creates a second skin of ornaments that seemingly merges into the female body.
Sculptural ornaments are infused with shimmering golden Lurex embroidery and contrast with sheer tulle to evoke a sensual interplay of transparence and concealment. With golden appliques and details, and deep black silk satin for the nightwear, this collection creates a glamorous ode to the female body.
The line is available in two color palettes: ‘Naughty Black’, a deep black with alluring golden accents on transparent tulle, and ‘Love Affair’, an elegant nude rose that evokes a naked lingerie effect.
The ELIE SAAB x AUBADE collection artfully embraces every silhouette. It includes a wireless triangle bralette, underwired triangle bra, a balconette bra, a plunging padded bra and a corset that can each be combined with a matching tanga, a Rio slip, an Italian brief or a statement St. Tropez all-over lace shorty. Rounding up the collection are suspenders and two bodies as well as a nightwear collection with a camisole, a negligee, shorties, long silk pants and a flowing kimono.
The ELIE SAAB x AUBADE collection will be available at Aubade‘s boutiques and selected multi-brand stores, and on the brand’s and multi-brand’s online stores, in July 2023.
