Sustainability has always been a priority at HANRO and is part of the brand’s DNA – just like the natural material cotton, which has been HANRO’s core expertise for more than 135 years. With the Spring/Summer 2022 collection, HANRO combines sustainability with its knowledge of high-quality cotton, processing methods and finishing techniques, developed over decades, to deliver an organic Supreme Green Cotton® series.
“We have long sought high-quality organic cotton that would meet the discerning standards of our HANRO customers. After all, the product is only truly sustainable when it is also durable, and that also applies to organic materials. This makes the carefully considered selection of fabrics very important,” says Christiane Braun, Head of Product Management and Design. “We use only long-staple organic cotton.”
Organic cotton is GMO-free, no fertilizers or pesticides are used in its cultivation and it only uses half the water of conventional cotton, while Supreme Green Cotton® is cultivated in Greece on family-owned cotton farms, consuming 40% less water thanks to modern drip irrigation methods. The ‘Natural Shirt’ series has two differently cut single-jersey t-shirts made of high-quality, soft organic cotton, available in lupine love, citrus and blueberry. In the bestselling ‘Sleep & Lounge’ series, HANRO launches a new Supreme Green Cotton® tank top with a ribbed knit available in white, black, flamingo, lotus and lupine love.
HANRO’s first SS22 womenswear delivery, Natural Harmony, is characterised by modern minimalism and clarity, focusing on naturalness, calmness, and a slower rhythm. Fresh shades of blue, beige and white reflect a return to classic looks, adorned with timeless stripes, ornamental prints and fresh pops of colour such as flamingo orange to set the summer mood.
The second delivery, Beautiful Chaos, symbolises awakening and new beginnings with prints and a colour palette inspired by the flowers and plants of botanical gardens. Soft lilac and blush tones create a delicate base and are accentuated by fresh green and yellow hues, accompanied by the cheerful very berry pink for a vibrant and playful mood. Last but not least, Rainbow of Hope pairs optimistic yellow, bold azure, and luminous turquoise with a watercolour print that is guaranteed to brighten any mood.
In the men’s collection, Natural Harmony offers minimalist styles in fresh shades of blue and bright, optimistic sunshine yellow. The second delivery, Beautiful Chaos, features fresh colours and botanical in dusky green, sunny olive, light blues and neutral beiges for a calming effect, followed by the happy and carefree Rainbow of Hope range in contrasting lilac combined with burgundy.
