The latest Hunkemöller campaign is a great vehicle for womxn empowerment, with the message that all womxnkind need the confidence to be exactly who they were meant to be. Alongside Hunkemöller, who have always encouraged women to be their most confident and beautiful selves, Danielle van Grondelle, Holland’s first curvy top model, has a long history in leading the way in body positivity and helped put together a collection of lingerie, nightwear and swimwear with her fashion and plus size expertise.
“Celebrating every woman, is about being your own kind of beautiful. Showing it and owning it – after all our body is ours for life,” said Danielle van Grondelle. “Every freckle, laughter line, mark or curve makes us special. Through owning our differences, we can be proud of our own silhouettes. This collection is a message to all women: We are exactly who we are meant to be! It’s a collection made to celebrate us all.”
‘Celebrating Every Woman’ has more sizes, styles, shapes and is more sustainable than ever, with an extended size range (up to 95H and XXXL) and new shapes that truly embrace curves. Lingerie makes use of new sustainable materials like lace from recycled nylon in the Lenix and Rabella styles. Lenix is a non-padded wired bra that has a stronger shape and is built to support the split-fit for sizes 85E and up, while Rabella is a non-wired bra available up to 80G.
Other collection pieces also have smart designs for curvier bodies, featuring thicker straps, wider waistbands and high waist briefs to be ultra-comfy as well as ultra-sexy. A structured lacy body with cut-out mesh and lace in all the right places stands out with a halter neck and unusual racer back, while a draped slip is perfect as nightwear or for wearing under a dress for a smoother and sexier silhouette.
In swimwear, all pieces are made from recycled polyester either in block colours or in a colourful cinnebar and petroleum green print that echoes Danielle’s Surinamese heritage. Structured fabrics create smooth finishes for splashing in the pool, or soaking up sun while lying on the beach. The Hunkemöller design team focused on extending the size range in swimwear too, and paid extra attention to excellent support and comfort of shapes while remaining as sexy as ever. A special mesh in front of the high-waisted briefs, for example, flattens tummies and give a snatched waist for an extra confidence boost.
