Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity., and forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people and absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere. To mark Earth Day on 22nd April 2021, Hanro is planting a tree for every item sold from its current collection made from TENCEL™ fibres*, supporting One Tree Planted’s reforestation efforts.
“For Hanro, sustainability has always been an embodiment of tradition. From spinning the yarn, to our in-house fabric production, to sewing the finished product in our own facilities – we have always had an impressive supply chain in Europe for over 130 years,” says Stephan Hohmann, Managing Director at HANRO. “80% of fabrics are produced on-site in Austria in the company’s own STeP by OEKO-TEX® certified fabric production facility, we source embroidery and woven fabrics from local suppliers from our region and the majority of our packaging is made of recyclable FSC-certified cardboard. To express our commitment to sustainability, we are proud to partner with One Tree Planted this year – by restoring forests, we are helping to secure the future of the earth and making a valuable contribution to active environmental protection.”
The promotion runs from April 12 – 25 in the Hanro stores in Munich, Vienna, Graz, New York, and Beverly Hills as well as online at hanro.com.
