British retailer Snag Tights have announced a new distribution centre in the Netherlands, to ensure that they can continue to fulfil international orders without disruption post-Brexit. Located in the Limburg region, the 20,000 square foot premises in Venlo are double the size of the hosiery brand’s existing headquarters in Livingston, Scotland.
The size-inclusive retailer, who achieved 3733% growth in their first three years of trade and are projected to turnover £24 million this year, have expanded distribution facilities to meeting growing international demand. The move will also ensure they are able to continue to serve customers globally post-Brexit, with the brand already fulfilling more than 500,000 orders from 50 regions outside the UK each year.
The brand initially wanted to grow in the UK, however, with the looming Brexit deadline and no news of whether there will be a deal or not, the hosiery brand had to look to expand within an EU country in order to continue to fulfil orders. Brie Read CEO and Founder of Snag commented: “More than half our orders for Snags come from outside the UK, with the majority of these from within the EU. Our business has grown and thrived thanks to the support of customers from around the world – so with the uncertainty surrounding Brexit we just knew we had to find a solution in order to continue to deliver our products to Snaggler’s everywhere.”
