Snag are delighted to announce a collaboration with Jamie Campbell, the inspiration behind the award-winning theatre production ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’, to design a collection of tights which will be launched in January 2021. The musical was inspired by the 2011 BBC Three documentary Jamie: Drag Queen At 16, which followed a year eleven boy’s decision to wear a dress to prom, and the fall out when his teachers tried to ban him. The real-life inspiration for Jamie New is Jamie Campbell.
Jamie grew up in an old mining village near Bishop Auckland, County Durham, a small market town in the northeast of England. When Jamie was growing up, he said he would always play dress up in his mum’s clothes, shoes, and tights, describing himself as a ‘naturally flamboyant’ kid.
“I’m both honoured and thrilled to have been welcomed into the Snag Tights family,” Jamie said. “I can’t wait to see how the Snagglers style my designs as they’re such a gorgeous group of unique individuals. I thank Brie and the team for this incredible opportunity where I get to dress literally EVERYBODY, no matter who they are. I can’t wait to see mum and gran in a pair of tights that I designed.”
