Wacoal Europe is delighted that National Fit Director Frederika Zappe was honoured at the National Intimate Apparel Awards with the Education Excellence Award. On September 17th, the Curve Expo and NPD Group teamed up to host their first virtual awards to recognize the achievements of those in the intimate apparel industry. The awards celebrated five categories, including: Philanthropic, Lifetime Achievement, Excellence, Curve Congeniality and Comfort Project for charitable excellence and in total honoured 14 brands.
Fit has always been extremely important to Wacoal Europe and is something that is central to all of their brands. Frederika has always demonstrated her incredible knowledge and passion for fitting women of all shapes and sizes, including the company’s fuller bust brands Fantasie and Freya and fuller figure brands Elomi and Goddess. Freddy has been with the company for over 20 years and is responsible for running the company’s famous Fit School in North America. Most recently during the pandemic, Freddy has been leading her Fit School virtually, allowing people from all over the world to join safely.
Upon accepting the award, Zappe thanked her Eveden Inc. co-workers, commenting that this would not be possible without the passion and support from the fit school team. She mentioned that when fitting someone “you change people’s lives, fitting them in a beautiful bra makes them feel confident and powerful, ready to take on the world.” She went on to say: “If you love what you do, you will never work a day in your life, and for over 20 years I haven’t been working, but I have loved every minute of it. It has been such a joyous journey. I am proud and honoured to be part of this amazing community.”
