Speaking to Underlines Jemma Barnes has confirmed that after a 3-month sabbatical (writing a book via Zoom calls to South Africa!) that she is returning to the real world of lingerie, nightwear and swimwear. She has set up her own portfolio with a selection of quality brands to form the Coyaba Collective, operating from October 2020.
Jemma comments on her new career move: “I am thrilled and excited to work with brands that present a true representation right across the industry. Previously I have worked with Pretty Polly, Chantelle, Aubade, Donna Karan/DKNY and Anita and will bring this depth and breadth of experience to the brands I will be representing.”
She will represent MEY in the South of England, working alongside Philip and Angela Horner in the North to continue the great work they have done and expand the brand’s distribution in Southern England. “I am delighted to work with MEY as I admire the high quality and good fit of everyday products from a company that is family owned with a keen environmental awareness – developing and making their own products as well as the component fabrics ensuring a safe and reliable supply.”
In addition she will join forces with her ‘industry brothers’, Richard and Andrew Barnes at Alba to represent Marjolaine, Luna di Seta, Gottex and Cosabella across middle England. Jemma has always been a fan of many of the brands in their portfolio and has been known to do a spot of private shopping on their stands in the past, so now she is thrilled to be able to actually work with such beautiful products that she has a genuine passion for and that draw on her past experiences with luxury and seduction brands. She is keen to get back onto the road and visit all her friends and customers that she has enjoyed working with over the years.

Coyaba is the Arawak (Caribbean Indian) word meaning Heaven or Paradise or a place of rest, which seemed appropriate for the products and brands Jemma will be representing.
