With bars, restaurants and hair dressers all reopening after a three-month break, lingerie brand Bluebella launched its ‘Dare To Bare’ body positive outdoor fashion show to celebrate the easing of lockdown through the streets of central London. Using a diverse range of models cast from its Instagram feed, the show went past several famous landmarks including the Raymond Revuebar, the Admiral Duncan pub in Old Compton Street, Soho Square and Chinatown. The runway show abided by government guidelines and only contained six models at any one time. They were at least one metre apart and all the models had done their own hair and make-up.
Bluebella chief executive Emily Bendell said: “We thought it was a time to celebrate life and fashion, now that the lockdown restrictions are being relaxed. Our own show was cancelled due to the lockdown and until now we have not been able to stage a physical runway show, so as soon as Independence Day was announced for July 4 we wanted to celebrate on the streets of the city we love. We are very much a London brand, constantly inspired by the city around us, and Soho is the creative and vibrant heart of that, and we wanted to celebrate it coming back to life again.”
Models included mother-of-two Amy Lee, 29, from Aylesbury; Lou Mussington, 26, a gym manager from Hackney; university student Alex Langdon-Jones, 20, from Plymouth; Amelia Horth, 24, a drama student from south London; Sharna Stephenson, 24, a property legal assistant from south London; Vikitolia Fulilagi, a 29-year-old graphic designer from Brighton; and Chante Halliday, 29, an analytical biochemist from Aylesbury.
