Lidea celebrates its 30th anniversary with the launch of the Lidea Eco Shape Capsule Collection, consisting of 100 percent recyclable or recycled components. “With Lidea Eco Shape we have developed a capsule that consistently implements the idea of sustainability in all its aspects,” said Maya Mehlhorn, CEO of the maryan beachwear group. “This starts with the fabric, continues with the yarn used and extends to labelling and packaging. We have also attached particular importance to the fact that development and production take place exclusively in Europe.”
It is particularly important to Maya Mehlhorn that a swimsuit or bikini cannot be considered sustainable if only a small percentage of the outer fabric is made of recycled yarn. “Lidea Eco Shape is the first product to meet the sustainability requirement for all components”, she adds, including the outer fabric and lining made of recycled material, all components such as sewing thread, care label and logo made of recycled material, and the packaging is biodegradable. The signet “designed & manufactured in Europe” also stands for an ecological footprint, based on a supply chain with short distances.
The Lidea Eco Shape capsule collection features two timeless, modern shapes: a classic one-piece suit with a V-neck and a sporty tank suit. Cross-seasonal design is the focus of the range, available in essential colours ocean blue and black, and puristic silhouettes with an invisible slimming effect.
