Mary Katrantzou launches Mary Mare, a bi-annual resortwear capsule collection launching in May 2020. Mirroring ‘Collection’, an accumulation of the brands last decade alongside one’s desire to collect, amass and cherish a series of objects, the prints of Mary Mare are a cabinet of curiosities, honing in on the success of the 10th anniversary’s philately (postage stamps) and conchology (sea shells) inspired linear graphics.
Postage stamps from exotic destinations emblazon cotton poplin, linen and silk twill across a series of day-to-night dresses, each nipped in via a contrasting belted waist tie. Separates follow suit with the brands signature shirt and trouser silhouettes re-imagined in fabrics lighter than ever before. Conchology is celebrated across ten dresses, with sea shells projected onto georgette and cotton voile on standout mini-dresses and kaftans shapes.
Capped-sleeved scuba styles and bandeau bathing suits become the canvas for each collectors edition whilst two new bikini styles complete the swim range, offering something for all body shapes and sizes. The addition of two beach towels and three tote bags become the core of the Mary Katrantzou first own-brand accessories capsule, whilst oversized raffia hats in rainbow shades or wrapped with silk scarves offer protection from the sun.
