Swimwear specialist Maryan Beachwear Group is now using its expertise in textile production to manufacture breathing masks certified according to the FFP2 standard. With its professional development studio at its Murg site in southern Baden, the clothing manufacturer is part of a group of companies that produce urgently needed protective equipment in the current crisis situation on behalf of the state of Baden-Württemberg. The company is now active in the cutting and assembly of respirators. Production is carried out in shifts under strict hygienic conditions.
For Managing Director Maya Mehlhorn, this short-term production changeover is positive in two ways: “We can support the country with the production of urgently needed protective equipment for the healthcare sector that meets the certified standards 100 percent. And we are in a position to secure the employment of part of the workforce during the crisis in the difficult economic market situation for the company in the textile and clothing sector.”
