Bluebuck launches men’s underwear collection made from eco fabrics

by Underlines

Bluebuck menswear continues to enhance its green fashion pedigree with its latest collection of underwear manufactured using Seaqual™, an eco-fabric made from recycled marine plastic waste. The London-based company, which has developed a range of eco menswear products from socks to swimwear, has added to its collection with its ‘Sport’ trunks and briefs  made using fabrics produced from plastic waste collected by Spanish fishermen.

Bluebuck has spent two years of research and development to create its very own exclusive fabric using Seaqual™ with a dyed GOTS-certified organic cotton yarn. This combination delivers a super soft feel to the trunks and briefs as well as making them quick drying and durable, and the colour scheme is also influenced by the mix of fibres as the cotton attracts the dye while the Seaqual™ fibres retain their natural white colour, producing an eye-catching melange effect.

Bluebuck founder Pierre David said: “Ever since we discovered Seaqual we knew that their work and commitment to a greener world was on par with our own beliefs here at Bluebuck. Our partnership allows us to contribute to cleaning up the ocean, as well as reducing energy consumption by 50%, water waste by 40% and carbon emissions by 60% during the yarn production process. With our Sport trunks and briefs collection we wanted to mix our love of outdoors and sports with and our love for the environment.”
