INVISTA to exhibit sustainable solutions at ISPO Munich

by Underlines

INVISTA announces that new products featuring the company’s EcoMade Technology will be on exhibit at the upcoming ISPO, taking place on 3-6 February 2019 in Munich, Germany. COOLMAX® EcoMade fibre and THERMOLITE® EcoMade fibre and insulation are made from certified amounts of recycled resources and offer the active/outdoor apparel industry a more sustainable alternative to virgin fibres. EcoMade technology is a key part of the company’s all-encompassing sustainability vision, in which product sustainability is a critical component.

New THERMOLITE® T-DOWN EcoMade insulation is a sustainable alternative to down feathers at a lower cost that is GRS Certified, made with recycled fibres, and offers key benefits over feather insulation. With its 500+ fill power, this insulation delivers lightweight warmth to cold weather outerwear, sleeping bags and accessories. New LYCRA® DUAL COMFORT technology utilizes LYCRA® T400® EcoMade fibre to create fabrics combining outstanding stretch and cooling characteristics, ideally suited for performance tops. COOLMAX® EcoMade technology keeps the wearer cool, dry and comfortable by moving moisture away from the skin to the surface of the fabric where it evaporates. THERMOLITE® EcoMade technology delivers lightweight warmth to keep the wearer comfortable longer.

“INVISTA has made a significant investment to develop differentiated recycled fibres that offer the same features, benefits, and quality as their virgin polymer equivalent, but will meet consumer expectations for more environmentally responsible products,” said Huw Williams, INVISTA global segment leader – active outdoor. “EcoMade technology is available in staple and filament forms, so that almost all fabric types and textile end uses can be served. This makes them easy to adopt for performance fabrics in the active outdoor space.”

“The company also pleased to announce that LYCRA® fiber Type 166L, primarily used in woven innovations and produced at the company’s plants in China, Singapore, and Northern Ireland, has earned a Gold Level Material Health Certificate. The certificate is awarded by the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute to products that meet the Material Health requirements of the Cradle to Cradle Certified™ Product Standard and is valid for two years.”
