BoudaVida is the creation of Anabel Sexton and her vision is a world where all women and girls can feel that sport is a natural pathway for them. This is why she and her daughter Gabriella decided there was room for an active wear brand that cares about and invests in its own market. They decided to bring the fashion focus that has become such an appealing part of yoga and gym kit to all sportswear.
Inspired by the legend of Boudicca, Queen of the Iceni tribe – a strong and active woman who wouldn’t take no for an answer – they dreamed up the name Boudavida as a way of encapsulating female strength of character with the notion of living a healthy life. Launched just 18 months ago, the founders are determined to put something back and 5% from every purchase from Boudavida is donated to projects in women’s sport, making a difference for women and girls across the UK.
They want to cater for as many sports as possible – both individual and team – and into a greater size breakdown, ultimately to create kit for every woman whatever they want to do. Sizes range from 8-18 but plans are underway to extend this soon.
A veteran of the sports industry, Anabel has worked for companies like IMG and TaylorMade adidas. She has held non-executive roles with The Sport & Recreation Alliance and England Netball, and is currently a board member of The England Golf Partnership. She has also acted as a panel expert for Sport England on their Active Women Funding Round.
