13th April – Hamburg based fashion underwear and swimwear specialist Lascana (a subsidiary of the Otto Group) reported excellent sales increases in business year 2016/17 to €171 million worldwide (up 21%), due to the significant growth of the own brand, Lascana. It is anticipated the sales will exceed 200 million for the current year 2017/18.
Commenting on the figures, Founder and MD, Jens Fehnders: “As we are in all channels with our multi-channel concept we have broad and fast expansion, both nationally and internationally. We have seen our turnover increase within 2 years by 50 million – this demonstrates how our well our concept works.”
In their own stores growth of 22% was reported and the company have opened new shops in Nuremberg, Berlin and Hamburg under the ‘Lascana – It’s a Woman’s World’ slogan bringing the total of own stores to 21. Mid term plans include at least 50 of these own stores in Germany and neighbouring European countries.
The online Lascana business in Germany also showed stunning growth of nearly 30% (half of these sales were now being generated via mobile devices). Online shops now exist in Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the UK – lascana.com in the USA was launched in February 2017 as the USA is the largest export market for the company with over half a million items, Lascana.nl is to follow very shortly.
