At a press briefing for Salon International de la Lingerie yesterday, organisers gave the floor to Matthew Pinet, founder of the site The Shape of the Season to design Uncover.
Designed as an alternative event in Paris that pulls together a selection of underwear, swimwear, loungewear, sportswear and beauty brands, leading department stores, Galeries Lafayette, will house a pop up Uncover shop from 20th January to 14th February, displaying emerging brands such as Maison Marcy (pictured), Yse, Ciso and UK’s Dora Larsen amongst others.
The format will be replicated to a greater degree during the Paris Show (starting 21st January) with up to 40 new and emerging designers in a similar format. Pinet commented: “I want to guide buyers by offering a selection of brands that I consider most inspiring right now, while mixing the different type of brands and products because this is how consumers consume fashion nowadays.”
