New British luxury lingerie brand Hummingbird specifically caters for women who have undergone breast surgery, offering a collection of silk lined pocketed and non-pocketed bras, thongs, Brazilian briefs and suspender belts. Named after an Ancient Mayan legend, the brand’s goal is to help customers maintain the balance between the female spirit and the nature of a disease, through beautiful and functional products considered desirable even before surgery.
“My Nan Marlene fought breast cancer and was a massive influence,” says founder and London College of Fashion Contour graduate Ellen Goldie. “The idea behind the brand is to re-empower women who may feel they have lost their femininity or confidence along their journey with breast cancer. Post-surgery, women still want to feel fun, sexy and themselves again and I hope to assist women with their personal healing process, with luxurious lingerie and help them celebrate their wonderful bodies in style.”
All garments are handmade in London using the finest silk, lace and gold components and Hummingbird Lingerie also offers a bespoke service. “No breast surgery or recovery process is the same so I also offer a bespoke service, allowing women the opportunity to have unique tailor made lingerie designed specifically to their own personal requirements,” Ellen adds.
