John was of course a familiar face on the underwear circuit, both in his own career and in his wife’s (Sandra) business. Born on 26th January 1941 and married to Sandra they spent 2 years in Australia returning to the UK in 1966. But it wasn’t until the late 1970s that he joined the Playtex Company and from there he moved to French brand, Chantelle, with Roland Scott-Agnew opening up the UK company in the early 1980’s. Sandra bought her first shop in 1995 and John took a very active part in making the shop a great success. He suffered a major stroke in 1997 but made a good recovery and continued to work behind the scenes in the shop and indeed on many trade show stands both here and in France.

John’s family funeral will be held on Wednesday 7th January at 1.30pm at St Augustine’s Church, Amersham Hill, High Wycombe (and after at Grouse & Ale, Lane End, HP14 3JG).
