It was at this show that Prince William reportedly fell for his future wife after she modelled a see-through dress, but this year all eyes will be on a lingerie collection designed by De Montfort University (DMU) graduate Sian Whitefoot as it’s showcased at the famous St Andrews Charity Fashion Show, the largest student-run fashion show in the UK.
This Saturday (15 Feb) cutting edge designs from fashion houses and a privileged selection of fashion graduates and up-and-coming designers will showcase at the event, including Sian’s collection created during her final year on DMU’s world-renowned Contour Fashion course.
Sian said: “I was delighted to be asked to show my designs at the St Andrews Charity Fashion Show. I am in the company of some great designers so it’s a great honour. The show has gained a large amount of publicity following pictures emerging of the Duchess of Cambridge modelling in it during her time at the university so it is a great platform for me.”
Fellow Contour Fashion graduate Louise Watson (whose design is pictured above) is also one of five UK graduates in the final for St Andrews ‘Young Designer Award’ which aims to discover the best design talent. The five finalists will present their designs on the catwalk before the winner is announced and receives £1,000 prize.
