Galeries Lafayette Paris Haussmann launched its new lingerie department on May 6th, an original concept with an exceptional selection of brands and made to measure service (covering some 3,500 sq metres). Designed under the artistic direction of French designer, Stella Cadente, the store group chose the Lycra® brand as their official partner of the unveiling (the windows of boulevard Haussmann are entirely dedicated to lingerie until 30th May).

The department is located on the 4th floor and there are 3 universes: Trendy Fashion (blue-purple), Luxury Designers & Contemporary (powder pink) and Tights & Socks (red). The department houses a new beauty area within the Trendy Fashion and an amazing 50 spacious cabins (changing rooms) with adjustable lighting and a team of experts on hand.

The move has been instigated in the belief that shoppers like to shop with trends in mind rather than segments such as foundationwear, shapewear, swimwear or nightwear. Swimwear will now be stocked 12 months of the year.

The department now offers over 50 brands and sizes from 30A to 44F and should attract a wide demographic of consumers with items starting at 10 Euros to 2,000 Euros from brands such as La Perla and Jean Paul Gaultier. There are mannequin displays which promote the trends of the season, a vending machine by Cosabella, a sewing machine from Empreinte (tailoring lingerie sets with lace, ribbon and other trims.
