Known for its Art Deco architecture, the Brewer Street Car Park\u00a0was chosen in a\u00a0bid to make British fashion and catwalk shows\u00a0accessible to the general public (screens were installed in Golden Square to broadcast the shows), as well as bringing visitors closer to London’s\u00a0creative scene and retail spaces.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Caroline Rush, Chief Executive of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishfashioncouncil.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">British Fashion Council<\/a> spoke of the move before the event: “The long term growth of the UK\u2019s designer fashion market is reflected geographically in this move that will see London Fashion Week designers showcasing collections in one of London\u2019s most vibrant, diverse and creative hubs set within a mile of Bond Street, Dover Street, Mount Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street. The new and exciting venue has already been dubbed as Brewer Street\u2019s \u2018Fashion Park\u2019 and will offer freedom and flexibility to designers who will be able to transform the show space to reflect their own aesthetics and identity.”<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11255\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over 150 womenswear designers showcased their SS16 collections at the Designer Showrooms, divided in\u00a0categories including\u00a0RTW, Emerging RTW, Shoes, Bags, Accessories and Multi-Label Showrooms.\u00a0For the first time John Smedley, Rejina Pyo, Self-Portrait and Zandra Rhodes joined the showroom line-up which includes swimwear and intimates labels <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lilliputandfelix.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lilliput & Felix<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.moeva.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moeva<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/lisakinglondon.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lisa King<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.auria-london.com\" target=\"_blank\" LFW’s Designer Showrooms and Scoop London<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This season London Fashion Week joined forces with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.scoop-international.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scoop London<\/a>, the new womenswear trade show created to cater for designers who find the existing January and July Scoop show timings too early.
